A star in the making:Jess Lee

If you are an ardent fan of the popular Taiwanese singing competition ‘One Million Star (超級星光大道)‘ hosted by Matilda Tao(陶晶莹), you would have followed each and every of the episode really closely. This show has discovered some of the now-famous singers such as Jam Hsiao (蕭敬騰), Aska Yang(杨宗纬) and Anthony Neely(倪安東) and is still currently being aired.

Today, I’m going to introduce one of its recent winners and her new launched album. Her name is Jess Lee, 李佳薇 and the name of her album which has been launched on 16th September 2011 is called《感謝愛人》.

Besides the first winner from Malaysia, Jess Lee is also the first competitor that has scored full points in four consecutive rounds. That says a lot about her singing abilities isn’t it? Without further ado, I would like to recommend 3 songs from her album.

1.《煎熬》

In this song, she had confidently exhibited her abilities to hit high notes and at the same time displayed her explosive vocals.

What also got me really intrigued is how morbid the MTV is and how it is aligned to the title of the song.

P.S.Watching this video makes me squirm. Eeks. Be prepared for some explicit scenes.

2. 《鞋》

Got to know this song when my 자기야 posted it on her facebook. The tune is composed by JJ Lin, our very own Singaporean singer/composer/song-writer. Must support!!! 😀

3. 《分隔線》

Really liked the last part that goes like this:

我們 之間有一道隱形分隔線
我們生活在兩邊
如此靠近卻好遙遠
我不再參與你的明天
跨不過這道隱形分隔線
如果有遺憾抱歉
就讓時間為我們作出一個總結
讓我能懷念

Although many people would claim that time heals, it doesn’t. It’s what you do with time that helps heal the wounds isn’t it? Keeping yourself occupied, letting go of the past and learning to reflect is what help us grow into a better and wholesome person. Reminiscing on just the good times is what also what keeps us happy in the absence of that special someone that was once in your life and encourages us to look forward to what lies ahead of us.

What say you?

Til the next post! 🙂
